weekend update
Last weekend was great. On friday I met up with my sis at O’Gara’s. I hadn’t seen her for quite a while so it was great to catch up and swap stories. I had tivo’d the ncaa games so I tried my best to ignore the screen and watch them at home in non-realtime.
Saturday morning I hopped in the Honda and headed over to Fargo for Sarah’s surprise bday party. The drive went fast and I avoided get a speeding ticket, even though a trooper turned around and followed me for quite some time.
I got to Fargo and had some good nerd time with Bader. Then Liz, Bader, and I headed to Juano’s for some delicious mexican food. Unfortunately, it took FOREVER for our food to come and we had to get it to go in order to make it to the bowling alley in time. We snuck in our food and devoured it despite the “no outside food or beverage” sign. hehehe, serious rebellion, I know.
Sarah had NO idea about the surprise party and was really excited that I (and Kev) could make it. Bowling was great and it was hilarious watching Lar Dog try to teach Lizzard how to bowl. I think my favorite was when he called her “toots”. The surprise party was a great time and the night ended early since Sarah had to work the next day.
Sunday morning I went to church with Liz and Bader and then out to eat with Mitch and his girlfriend. It was cool seeing everyone again and making fun of the fact that Mitch’s girl likes nascar. hehehehe, sorry mitchem.
I was exhausted after lunch and headed back home. I had forgotten my Firefox hat at the bowling alley the night before so I stopped by on my way out of town to see if it was still there. All they had was a Vikings hat and a racing hat so I was pretty bummed. I said “thanks anyway” and started walking away. As I was leaving the owner yelled “wait, is this it!?” Sure enough they still had it! wooohooo!
I got back into town and headed over to Mare’s place for the night. Her vacation was a blast and she had some funny stories…
This week is flying by. I’m looking at some houses tomorrow night so that should be interesting. I’m looking forward to getting out of this apartment (though being in uptown is certainly convenient). I just want a decent house with a basement/computer area and a yard/patio so I can grill
Too bad that’s gonna cost me like 200k…insane!…but such is life.
