training…day 1

I started my training today for the 10K I’m doing on Labor Day. Mare and I ate some supper and hit the gym. Eating before a workout was NOT a good idea. Let’s just say greasy food and chocolate milk (with a lactose intolerance problem) wasn’t a good combo. hehehe…running sucked. I struggled through 5.5 miles on the treadmill. Mare’s coworker (Jason) and his wife and son were at the gym training too. Jason is going to run the 10K with me. He’s a short-guy like me but the guy can totally run. He’s going to whoop up on me…no question. I guess I’ve got some work to do.

    LoL - I too went and had a rather unpleasant attempt at doing some running last night after doing some weight exercises. I think I lasted just shy of 2 minutes before the words “**** it” escaped my lips and I hit the cancel button on the treadmill. Haha. I have a hard time jogging after lifting so it’s really not that surprising.

    here’s what I do: not work out. see, now all of the above mentioned problems are non-existent! Sure, the case could be made that my heart, lungs, and body will suffer for it…. and if you count being overweight as a “bad” thing well then….
