randomness
Tuesday, November 29th, 2005i’m sittin’ in alec at my hotel room and i’m kinda bored. These last few weeks have just been crazy. Between changing jobs, traveling, thanksgiving, and…uh…another great change in life (ya’ll know what i’m talking about), i’ve just been overwhelmed. I cerainly can’t complain though.
so funny story…
today at my place of work everyone got together for a meeting in the afternoon. I heard people gathering but ignored it. Someone stopped by and told me to join the group. It turns out one of the PMs had put together a teamwork-excercise which involved a game of trying to gather up balls (kush balls) and gathering them into your circle (there were 4 teams). It was some stupid game that would be impossible to win without “outside the box” thinking. lol. i hate this kind of crap so I was NOT excited to participate. After the facilitator explained the rules (several times) the QA guy picked up his circle and dropped it on top of the middle circle which held all the balls…hence “winning” the competition. I laughed so freakin’ hard because he accomplished the goal before the game even started and saved me from the agony! I was so happy! Seriously, I’m changing my opinion of QA guys….from now on, they’re cool! hehehe, i hate stupid team building nonsense. I have to say though the people at work really do like their jobs and the level of energy is refreshing.
I’m so happy it’s almost Wed. The days here are going by quickly. There’s something rewarding about spending WAY too much time trying to solve some stupid problem and then finally finding the solution at the end of the day. I do have to say though, “black boxes” (not having source code) drives me F*e$3#ING INSANE! “canned” products are certainly necessary but trying to debug problems without any visibility into what’s happening is just hopeless. I’ve developed a hatred for the MS Enterprise Library!…problems with reading a reg key that it didn’t create on install.
alright, i’m out. life is busy…change is good…I _really_ miss home…looking forward to Friday…going to see some comedy
