biking, again…will i ever shut up!?
Well, my biking trip last night wasn’t nearly as exciting as PedX|ng’s but at least I came home without being all cut up…I _still_ can’t believe they hit you and took off!
Matty and I went north through downtown, then along the west bank of the river to lake street, then over to park ave, 24th St, home. The weather was beautiful and we rode about 11 miles (9.98 with the GPS turned on…forgot to do that!). I’m continually amazed at the number of bike routes in Minneapolis. I guess I’ve just never paid attention to them before. Along the river by the U of M is absolutely amazing…plus the “scenery” was pretty nice too.
I’m heading downtown tonight for a block party. Mike diggity Doughty is playing and I’m really excited! You can’t beat a free concert!

free concerts eh? that sounds too good to be true. be on the lookout for for anyone handing out free gum, because its most likely mind control gum. anyway, remember your tinfoil hat and have a good time. =)
I can’t wait to be in minnesota where the scenery (the ACTUAL scenery) is so beautiful on a bike ride. Here I can ride in any direction for 20 miles and see the same flat boring land.
speaking of GPS and biking though, my friend Castle is planning a RIDICULOUS bike trip from here to Texas, then into California, and back by way of Wyoming. This is his second massive trip (the last one was over 2000 miles) so he’s not a new-comer but by looking at him you’d never guess he was capable of such extreme distances. Castle is certainly one of the most unique people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Tim wants to sponsor him by giving him a cheap gps unit so that Castle can check in with coordinates periodically and then Tim would plot his route on a paper map on the wall of his coffee shop with a “where in the world is castle danz” feature. getting these guys to use wireless devices or update a map through electronic means will NEVER happen but the pen and paper idea is a good one.
jeepers, and I thought riding to Sunmart was a chore.

that’s a fantastic IDEA. A cheap GPS plus occasional text messages should make that pretty easy. Plus, that’s the kind of stuff that makes a coffee shop cool.
2000 miles is absolutely nuts. I can’t even imagine covering that kind of distance. That will take him _months_.
I’ll keep an eye out for the trick gum. I don’t want any of the trick-now-you’re-addicted-to-heroin-gum! Funny you should mention the tinfoil hat. Matty and I were talking about surveillance/satellites/random stuff last night. He said “just don’t ever look up”. I added “yet another reason why I’m a big advocate of the tinfoil hat.” He said he’s taking my computers away if he ever sees me wearing one. hahahahaha…a foam/mesh/tinfoil hat would be freakin’ hilarious.
